🚀Release Notes: SAML 2.0 SSO Support for Mobile – User-Initiated Provisioning for Bridge Customers, scheduled 3 weeks ago

Version: HID Origo Management Portal 10.5.1 (Mobile) planned on January 27, 2026.

Overview

These release notes provide details on the introduction of SAML 2.0 Single Sign-On (SSO) support for mobile user-initiated provisioning in the New Origo Management Portal 10.5.1, specifically benefiting Bridge Customers.

This enhancement improves compatibility with organisations using SAML-based Identity Providers (IdPs) and expands the available SSO options beyond OpenID Connect.

📍Why This Matters
  • Broader Compatibility
✅Customers using SAML can now leverage their existing IdP for mobile provisioning, enabling a unified identity strategy across environments.

  • Improved User Experience
✅Mobile users benefit from a consistent and secure onboarding process, reducing friction during provisioning.

  • Future-Proof Integration
✅Organisations can standardise on SAML across both portal authentication and mobile provisioning, preventing protocol mismatches.

  • Increased Adoption
✅Supporting SAML encourages wider adoption of enterprise IdPs already established within customer environments.

📍Key Benefits
  • Expanded SSO Options
✅SAML support now complements OpenID Connect, increasing flexibility for diverse enterprise identity architectures.

  • Enhanced Security
✅SAML-based authentication ensures strong identity verification for mobile provisioning.

📍Feature Highlights
  • SAML SSO Enabled for Mobile
✅Mobile users are configured for SAML authentication based on their email ID.

  • User-Initiated Provisioning
✅Users can initiate mobile pass requests through SAML authentication, ensuring secure and streamlined onboarding.

  • Consistent Authentication Flow
✅The SAML flow mirrors the existing OpenID Connect experience, providing consistency and ease of use.

  • Non-Disruptive Integration
✅Callback registration for the mobile SAML flow does not interfere with existing web flows.

📍Customer Impact

This release is particularly beneficial for:

  • Bridge Customers
✅SAML support is now available in scenarios where previously only OpenID Connect was supported, providing greater flexibility and compatibility with enterprise identity strategies.
