HID Mobile Access v4.5.0, scheduled 7 months ago

Dear Customers,

HID are pleased to announce a planned enhancement to HID Origo Management Portal with the introduction of a new Mobile Access feature. Within the Organization Settings menu, specifically under the "Mobile Access App Features" section, administrators will have the ability to enable or disable Padlock and Twist & Go functionality. This will allow centralized control of these HID Mobile Access application related functions at the organizational level.

While these additions are primarily aimed at facilitating greater control at the organizational level, we would like to highlight the fact that integrators and partners can also leverage this new feature in order to tailor solutions according to their unique application needs.

Please note that although this feature is scheduled to be implemented in the HID Origo Management Portal from April 04, 2024 (Release version 8.35.9) onwards, the functionality will align with HID Mobile Access App 4.5.0, which is expected to be released at the 18th of April 2024 (tentatively).

New features and enhancements (Release notes)

Android & iOS:

  • Enhanced Policy Enforcement for the Twist & Go and Nearby Reader features. These settings allow Organization administrators within the HID Origo Management Portal to manage the Twist & Go and Padlock options (located under the Nearby Reader section in the HID Mobile Access App).
  • Improved notification functionality. Outside of the app, users now receive notifications related to app permissions. Note: This feature is controlled from within the app Settings, and is disabled by default.
  • Provides various additional enhancements and issue resolutions.

Android:

  • Added a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section under Settings, making it easier for users to find answers to their questions and receive assistance.

iOS:

  • iBeacon entry and exit events have been added. Users can now view new events related to iBeacon entry and exit on the Activity Log screen.
  • Device model details are now displayed on the About screen and included in the Support email.
  • Work profile information is included in the Support email to provide a better understanding of the app's environment when troubleshooting problems.
  • Transaction time recording is now provided in the activity logs for improved tracking.

HID are excited about the possibilities these new enhancements can deliver and look forward to the positive impact they will have on your experience with our platform.

ODM RFP 1.0 service shutdown, scheduled 7 months ago

Dear Customer,

We are reaching out to inform you about an important change that will impact your use of HID Biometric Manager software and Signo 25B readers as of April 8th, 2024. Due to changes in the HID Reader Manager service, the HID Biometric Manager software (all versions) will no longer allow the following actions:

  1. Loading of Mobile/Elite (ICE) Keys into a Signo 25B Reader(s)
  2. Configuration of the BLE Settings (Tap/Twist & Go/Signal Strength)
  3. Firmware Upgrades The impact of this change is that Mobile and Elite credentials will not be supported on any uninstalled readers nor can changes to the BLE settings or firmware upgrades be able to occur until we are able to release our Linq Software which supports the Signo 25B. This is tentatively scheduled for release in Q4/2025. The Signo 25B and RB25F units with Mobile/Elite (ICE) keys already provisioned will not be affected by the change but the BLE settings and Firmware will remain at current values.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologize for any disruption to your operations caused by this change. Should you have any further concerns on this matter or require additional assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to support you.

Best Regards,

HID Global PACS Product Management
